GREAT SINGAPORE SALES! FOOD FAIR AT SINGAPORE EXPO!

Damn! So many things, so little money. LOL. I've been spending alot lately. Especially on food when I'm feel stressful. And I feel so FAT today. I have the stomach of like a four-month pregnant lady after going to the food fair at Expo! Zheng Yee, Jing Jing and I went around sampling most of the food and I had two 'Kong Ba Pau', one 'Jumbo Chicken Hotdog', two pieces of dunno what from 'Dodo Fishballs'. LOL. We ate lots of things there but I can't really remember what. The only thing I could remember is that we kept eating the 'Ba Kwa'. LOL. We went to take more than once! Haha. Typical Singaporean style. LOL. And Selina, I believe you won't have to spend much there. Just keep going round and round to eat the food samples and you'll be filled up. LOL.

And I wrote a complaint letter to the Course Manager about a lecturer. The contents are as follows:
Dear Sir,

I am writing on behalf of my classmates as well as for myself. I would like to clarify about me and my classmates' attendance for OOAD. We went into class at 4.05pm for our tutorial on 24/5/07 and were marked as late. I believe we have a fifteen minutes grace time to get from one class to another, and to ensure that we, students, do not take advantage of this kind allowance, you encourage us to reach class as soon as possible. We always try to attend lessons on time, however, due to some unwanted problems, we are often a few minutes away for being on time. The more common problems that result us in not being on time are the need to visit the toilets in-between lessons, walking from one class to another and the lifts filled with students.

We, humans, have our needs and go to the toilet to answer nature's call. We often visit the toilets during breaks rather than in the lesson because we believe that learning is important. However, if we are being marked late for this reason, I find it very unacceptable as we can't control when have to answer nature's call.

Secondly, most of us have CDS in other schools. Given the distance, we have to walk from one school to another. In my case, from the Business School to IT School. Although it is near, it still takes time for one to travel from one place to another. This leads to the next problem.

Lastly, the lifts are often filled with students during these breaks as they are rushing to class. Moreover, some of the classrooms are located in higher levels. Hence, it is unlikely for us to take the stairs as we may have bulky items to carry about. This is where the 15 minutes grace comes into play.

I have always believed in leading by example. Mr Liow Joon Yew was not punctual on a few classes. When we displayed our displeasure, he arrogantly told us, "So? Mark me late lor.". I find this behavior from a lecturer unacceptable.

Another unacceptable behavior is Mr Liow Joon Yew calling us "cry-babies" when we brought up this matter to our care-person, Ms Tan Li Fern. Shouldn't our care person be the one who would help his/her care-group when they have any problems? If it isn't, then what's the point of having a care-group when every student in Temasek Polytechnic could be independent and speak up for themselves?

On another case, my classmates and friends from other classes were marked late on the first lesson of OOAD. I believe that they should not be marked late as it was their first lesson. I believe this issue gave not only our class, but some other classes a very bad impression of Mr Liow Joon Yew. I also believe that this is not the first email you had received concerning about this matter. I believe that you had received similar emails from my classmates as well as from students from other classes regarding this attendance issue.

Sorry for this long e-mail and thank you for your time. I await your positive reply.

PS: I would also like to know what type of videos can a lecturer play during lectures. Mr Liow Joon Yew showed us a video which contains gore on 28/5/07 in LT9 at 9am and again at the end of the lesson. He obtained this video from the following website is

Haha, long eh? And this is his reply:
Hi, Wilson,

Thank you very much for your feedback. I’ll channel this feedback to the Course Manager who is in the position to take action because Mr. Liow does not report to me and neither is OOAD under my direct care. I will get back to you as soon as possible.

With warmest regards,
